An international norm is being questioned after Trump’s Iran strikes. As two of the officials who helped established it, we’d like to set the record straight

The governments conducting or supporting these actions have not claimed its authority. Instead they are invoking the old, lawless logic of raw power that R2P was built to delegitimize.
