John Ivison: Manitoba has just become the first jurisdiction in Canada to introduce legislation that would make it an unfair practice for suppliers to charge higher prices based on algorithmic pricing.

Bill 49 is aimed at preventing retailers from using personal data, such as purchasing history, to set higher individualized prices.
