John Ivison/National Post: Last week, Canada’s Foreign Affairs committee received a formal request from its Chinese counterpart urging that the Beijing committee’s “parliamentarians” be invited to Ottawa.

The immediate problem with that is that many of Canadian committee members, including its two vice-chairs — Conservative MP Michael Chong and Bloc MP Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe — are under Chinese sanctions that are still in place…
