Liberals question Senate’s handling of bail reform bill

iPolitics: A senior government source told iPolitics that senators are slowing down a bill (Bill C-14) supported by the Liberals and Conservatives, as well as provincial and territorial premiers, and municipal police chiefs.

The source, who asked for anonymity because they’re not authorized to publicly discuss the mater, said opposition to the decision isn’t a matter of curtailing the Senate’s independence, but fair criticism of senators working against a bill that has the backing of all relevant decisionmakers.
