According to the study director Oliver Decker, “The core business of the extreme right is the crisis. Because people who perceive crisis are more susceptible to authoritarian promises of protection. Why, where and when a crisis is identified often has little to do with the real challenges. We also see that a larger portion of the population is open to conspiracy narratives. These are also authoritarian reactions in which reality is no longer acknowledged.”
